If you’ve been with me for a while you might be wondering…
“what’s up with the name change?”
The Birth of the GLP-1 Collective Podcast
Let me take you back for a second.
I started my own GLP-1 journey in October 2024, totally overwhelmed, completely confused, and deeply aware of how few good resources were out there.
There was stigma.
There was shame.
There were Facebook groups filled with chaos, and doctors still repeating the same outdated line: “eat less and move more.”
Oh wait… all of those things are still happening…
And I thought, “I need to do something about this.”
So I made a podcast.
Introducing the GLP-1 Collective Nonprofit
The podcast is a place for patients to share their stories, bring compassion where there’s been judgment, and help people understand why access isn’t optional, it’s a necessity.
It exists to empower and support GLP-1 patients everywhere.
But as powerful as stories are, they aren’t enough on their own. We needed something tangible.
Real support.
Resources.
And a way to move beyond awareness and into action.
So I founded the nonprofit.
The GLP-1 Collective was built because the podcast just wasn’t enough.
People needed:
Support groups
Educational resources
Actual help paying for their meds
So I got scrappy, did the paperwork, and made it official.
And I’m so proud of what that nonprofit has become.
But here’s the thing no one tells you about running a nonprofit:
It is… a whole entire situation.
Why I Founded the GLP-1 Studio
I’m talking:
Forms
Legal fees
Compliance hoops
Backend costs
And more red tape than a holiday clearance bin at Target!
Everything, and I mean e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g, moves slower.
Which is fine when you’re building infrastructure.
But not when:
People are losing access
Losing time on this earth with their loved ones
And losing hope
That’s when I realized I needed a second lane. A place where I could move fast without 1000 hurdles.
That’s why I started GLP-1 Studio, my for-profit home for media, communications, and all the things I needed freedom to actually do.
No grant applications. No waiting for approvals. Just… action.
What Was GLP-1 Access
I originally called this new love of mine GLP-1 Access, which spoke to the advocacy side of things, but felt too narrow for what I was building.
I wanted space to:
Produce the podcast
Collaborate with anyone who cares
Advocate for policy change like PBM reform
Start a speakers bureau
Write and SPEAK freely
All without confusing people or stepping on the nonprofit’s mission.
So I landed on GLP-1 Studio.
And honestly? It fits. 🎙️
But then came the awkward part, explaining why the GLP-1 Collective Podcast was suddenly being produced by something called GLP-1 Studio but technically had nothing to do with the nonprofit.
Yeah…
Not ideal…
So I changed the name.
Incoming GLP-1 Studio
Simple as that. Same show. Same mission. Same heart.
Now with a name that reflects where it actually lives, and where I live, creatively speaking.
So if you’ve been wondering why the logo looks different, or why I’m suddenly saying “Welcome to the GLP-1 Studio Podcast”… now you know.
GLP-1 Collective (the nonprofit) is still, focused on free, community-centered resources.
GLP-1 Studio (my media baby) is growing fast and reaching people in all kinds of new ways.
And the podcast? It’s a free bird 🕊️ doing what it does best.
Thanks for sticking with me through the journey. And if you were confused for a second?
Honestly, same. 😂
But I’m so happy with where it’s landed.
Here’s to more stories, advocating for access, and more ways to make this community feel like home.
xo,
Amanda☕💖
